ski & snowboard levels
Level 1
* Ski: You have never skied before.
* Snowboard: You have never snowboarded before.
Level 2
* Ski: You have skied before and can stop in a wedge.
* Snowboard: You can perform a skidded traverse on both heel-side and toe-side edges and can stop.
Level 3
* Ski: You are comfortable making wedge turns on easier green runs.
* Snowboard: You can perform skidded traverses in both directions with confidence and can make basic turns in both directions.
Level 4
* Ski:You are beginning to match your skis at the end of each turn.
You are comfortable on green runs.
* Snowboard:You can turn in both directions with speed control and are working on linking turns.
Level 5
* Ski:You are matching your skis earlier in each turn. You ski green and easier blue runs.
* Snowboard:You are linking skidded turns with good speed control and shape, and are seeking more challenging terrain.
Level 6
* Ski:You match your skis near the beginning of each turn, and you ski a mixture of blue and green runs.
* Snowboard:You are confident on most intermediate terrain under good conditions and are beginning to carve turns.
Level 7
* Ski:You are comfortable making open parallel turns with a pole plant on green and blue runs.
* Snowboard:You are comfortable on all intermediate terrain under good conditions. You are fine-tuning carved turns and seeking more challenging terrain including bumps and varying snow conditions.
Level 8
* Ski:You can make short, controlled parallel turns on blue and most black runs.
* Snowboard:You are confident performing carved turns and are refining technique in all snow conditions and terrain.
Level 9
* Ski:You make strong, linked parallel turns on black runs in a variety of conditions.
* Snowboard:You can negotiate the entire mountain with confidence and ease, working on the fine points of efficiency and exploring the extremes of riding.
